What's included in a guided trip?

Every trip includes a licensed Montana guide, drift boat, and all the gear — rods, reels, flies, leaders, and tippet. Full-day floats also include a streamside lunch, cold beverages, snacks, and transportation to and from the river. You bring a fishing license, weather-appropriate layers, and polarized sunglasses.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes. Montana fishing licenses are required for everyone 12 and older. You can buy a short-term or season license online from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks before your trip.

I've never fly fished — is that okay?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Teaching is one of our favorite parts of the job, and trips run for first-timers and seasoned anglers alike. If you're brand new, a half-day float is a relaxed way to learn the ropes at an easy pace.

Question 4

Which trip should I book first?

Accepted Answer

The Full Day Float is our signature day. If you want the highlights, dry-fly fishing the Bitterroot and spring fishing on the Missouri are the days you don't want to miss.

Question 5

What's your deposit and cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

A 50% deposit reserves your dates, with the balance due 7 days before the trip. Cancellations 30+ days out receive a full refund; within 30 days the deposit is forfeited unless we can rebook the day. See our full cancellation policy for details, and consider travel insurance.

Do you fish anywhere in the off-season?

Accepted Answer

Yes — in the winter we run guided carp, bass, and flats trips in Arizona. It's a newer part of the operation, so reach out and we'll fill you in on dates and details.
